Delete your CriticsBook account

You can ask at any time for your CriticsBook account, and all the data associated with it, to be permanently deleted. This applies to the CriticsBook app on Android and iOS.

How to request deletion

From the app: open your profile, then Edit profile, and tap Delete my account. The app prepares the request email for you.

Without the app: send an email to contact@criticsbook.com from the email address of your account, with the subject « CriticsBook account deletion request ». Sending it from that address is how we check that the request comes from the account holder.

We confirm receipt of your request, then confirm once deletion is complete. Requests are processed within 30 days.

What is deleted

• your account and sign-in credentials;
• your profile: name, username, photo, biography, languages, roles and social links;
• your critics (text, audio, video and web) and the files attached to them;
• your comments, reactions and ratings;
• your reading lists, watchlist, wishlist and read-later list;
• your notifications, subscriptions and notification settings.

What may be kept

Copies that may remain in technical backups are erased when those backups are renewed. Data that the law requires us to keep is kept only for the required period. Book records that you added to the shared catalogue (title, author, ISBN, cover) are not personal data and remain available to other readers.
